Steps to take after an accident:

• Do not decline medical treatment if you have been injured.
• Only discuss the accident with the police and do not admit fault or liability. Make sure a police report is filed and get report copies.
• Get the names, addresses, phone numbers, license plate numbers and insurance information of all involve.
• Report the accident to your insurance agent as soon as possible, but do not make any statements about the severity of your injuries. Leave that up to your doctors.
• Do not give a recorded statement to the other side’s insurance company.
• Do not sign any insurance paperwork without the advise of an attorney.
